Job description:
Supervisor must make sure that the kitchen runs efficiently, maintaining uniformity across the board for all menu items, helping to keep an eye on inventories, and expressing any needs to the catering manager.
Function:
Supervisor will oversee the efficient running of kitchen production
Maintain uniformity across the entire menu
Help the catering manager by keeping track of the inventory and communicating any needs.
to ensure proper portion control, preparation, and storage techniques, which will save waste and expenditures.
providing superior service
To assist with fundamental food preparation in all areas of food production in accordance with the demands of the menu cycle.
To aid in completing necessary paperwork such as cleaning records, reproduction and wastage sheets, etc.
to assist with routine stocktakes as needed
maintaining temperature records as necessary and reporting any deviation
Analyse and manage all in unit expenses well.
All food waste must be tracked and reduced.
Be prepared to willingly and positively support coworkers, especially by helping with other tasks.
Qualification:
The matric is necessary
A relevant tertiary degree in culinary arts or food and beverage services is required.
Experience:
Supervisor experience in progressive or kitchen management for at least two years is required.
must be familiar with computers
experience in ordering, receiving, and stock control
Experience with hospital catering
understanding of special diets
Other Skills:
Supervisor must understanding of the catering industry, including fine dining and restaurant meals
understanding of local and industry-specific laws in South Africa
